This might seem cliche, but I'm drawn to superheroes; their hope, tenacity, strength, and power of will reflect the greatest of human potential. Additionally, I appreciate and revere history, both ancestral and societal, and covet science. Oceans and large bodies of water as well as fire are aspects of nature I draw inspiration and knowledge from.

I've never been very good with speaking words that convey my intentions, necessities, and desires. Both innate and learned understandings of the body have more aptly fit. I like to sweat, I like to exert energy, I like to be physically exhausted, I like to artistically connect through movement, and I like things that aren't precisely spelled out but leave room for interpretation. I enjoy physical communication and embodied knowledge. I enjoy a body's history and I understand people more through movement, through body language, and through what's left unsaid. I revere limitations and figuring out how to work through them. There is so much left to be discovered about humans and their bodies and that scares me, but more importantly that gives me hope.

To be effortful and fleshy. To destabilize the binaries between audience + performer and practice + performance. To make dances not just for dancers. To create performances with multiple entryways through embodied humor, verbal communication, and engagement of space to reach audiences of many backgrounds. To love and be loved.
em
a mover, musician, wannabe magician unabashedly dedicated to being too loud, being too sensitive, taking up too much space, and not giving a single fuck.
